Kalatówki is a vast meadow with a view towards Kasprowy Wierch. There is a mountain hotel with a restaurant located there. The meadow is also used for grazing sheep. Getting to Kalatówki is easy and short, even young children can manage it.
How to get to Kalatówki Meadow?
The trail to Kalatówki Meadow starts in Kuźnice, near the lower station of the cable car to Kasprowy Wierch - about 5 km from the center of Zakopane (you can take a bus to get there).
Getting to Kalatówki Meadow is an easy and gentle walk in the shade of trees. We follow the blue trail - the Path of Brother Albert. It is a rocky, wide path gently ascending uphill.
Near the Albertynki Monastery, we can turn left onto a narrower, forest path - it is more pleasant to walk on than on the rocks.
Kalatówki Meadow
At Kalatówki Meadow, you may come across grazing sheep and observe the cable car passing by from a distance.
There is also a PTTK Mountain Hotel with a restaurant here - it offers highchairs for children, a children's menu, toys, board games, as well as table football and a ping-pong table. Accommodation is also available.
Hike to Hala Kondratowa
For those who still have energy, it is worth continuing the hike to Hala Kondratowa - it takes an additional hour, about 2 km, and an additional ascent of 160m. This walk should not pose major difficulties even for young, beginner hikers.
