The ruins of the castle in Rytrze, majestically rising above the Poprad Valley, are one of the main attractions in the area. You can reach here by car (small free parking, about 400m from the castle) or by a comfortable yet quite steep walking path.

How to get to the castle ruins from Rytrze?

From the town center, cross the bridge to the other side of the Poprad River. Walk along the river and cross a small bridge over a stream, then take the steep concrete road to the right.

Soon, the path will enter the forest and become less steep. It will lead us to a small parking area and then to the castle itself.

The final section of the ascent to the castle ruins is made of concrete slabs:

ATTENTION! The path to the castle in Rytrze is theoretically a "cycling path," but if you choose to come here by bike or with a stroller, keep in mind that we have to overcome over 100m of elevation difference: we will be climbing steeply uphill!

A less steep option is the asphalt road, which allows car access to the castle. However, there is no sidewalk or even a shoulder... Although the traffic on the road is minimal (only access to the castle and a few farms), the comfort is much lower compared to the forest walking and cycling path.
