warning No dogs allowed
The longest, but also the least crowded route leading to the most popular peak in the Pieniny Mountains - Trzy Korony. The blue trail takes us mainly through dense, coniferous forest. The most scenic section is just past Czorsztyn - it's called Majerz Glade. Most of the trail has a slight incline and is almost flat, with elevation gained on two steep ascents. Paradoxically, the steepest part of the trail is the section after Czorsztyn and Majerz Glade - you can see this on the elevation profile displayed on the route map.
Majerz Glade
After passing the meadow, the trail crosses a busy road and enters the forest. Here, we encounter the steepest ascent on a gravel path leading to another scenic meadow, although more overgrown.
Majerz Meadow - Shepherd's Hut and Viewpoint of Lake Czorsztyn
Just a 5-minute walk from the town of Czorsztyn (following the blue trail leading to Trzy Korony), you will find a true gem - Majerz Meadow. ...
The further part of the trail, all the way to the Szopka Pass below Trzy Korony, leads through dense, coniferous forest, and although we pass some small clearings along the way, they are not particularly scenic. As mentioned earlier, the trail is less frequented. It is therefore perfect for hikers who want to experience the closeness of nature.
It is a pass located just before the final ascent to Trzy Korony, with a scenic meadow offering views of the Tatra Mountains. This is where trails from Krościenko, Sromowce Niżne, and Czorsztyn intersect. The easiest ascent to Trzy Korony starts from the Szopka Pass. At the very top of Trzy Korony, there is an observation terrace, which requires a paid entrance fee - this is the fee for entering the Pieniny National Park area.
Trzy Korony
If after conquering Trzy Korony, you still have the energy, you can vary your return route by visiting Pieniński Castle - expect steep rocky ascents.
Trzy Korony
