Parking and Recreation Area
We start our walk on a large green meadow located by the parking lot at the forest entrance. This grassy area has a fire pit, educational boards, and a large wooden picnic shelter. It's a great place to relax and spend time with family. You can bring snacks, board games, and enjoy the nature.
The entrance to the Educational Path of Wierzchosławice Forests is at the end of the meadow.

Start of the Educational Path - Entrance to Wooden Walkways at the End of the Recreation Meadow
Initially, the path leads us on picturesque wooden walkways. We can observe forest floor plants. The path is well-marked with signs indicating the direction, making it easy to follow. However, we did not find a map of the path, and it is not marked on Google Maps - the map on our portal may not be very accurate. But by following the signs, we should not lose our way.

The walkways lead us to a wide gravel forest road. However, the further we go into the forest, the narrower and more overgrown the path becomes.

Along the path, you will find educational boards introducing us to forest animals and fish that are bred in the local forest ponds.

Wierzchosławice Fish Farm
During the pre-Christmas period, carp are reportedly harvested from these ponds. Additionally, grass carp, pike, and bighead carp live here. Carp farming in the Wierzchosławice forests has a tradition of over five hundred years, dating back to the 15th century. At that time, the bishops of Kraków (the then owners of the Radłowskie estates) allowed the establishment of the first carp ponds in the Radłowskie Forest. The pond banks are overgrown, so among the reeds, we can see various bird species.

Asphalt Forest Road
The path by the ponds leads to an asphalt forest road, which we can take back to the parking lot or continue further into the forest to more ponds.
