The Radłowskie Forests, located in the Wierzchosławice commune near Tarnów, are one of the largest forest complexes in the Małopolska region. They are remnants of the ancient Sandomierz Forest, which stretched hundreds of years ago in the Sandomierz Basin from Kraków to the east. Today, they are an excellent place for hiking, cycling, and walking, offering a range of paths and trails for everyone.
One of the most popular walking routes in the Radłowskie Forests is the asphalt path leading from the parking lot to the ponds. It is an easy and accessible route of about 3 kilometers, perfect for a bike ride with a child, rollerblading, or a walk with a stroller.
- The path is entirely asphalt and without terrain inclines
- We walk mainly in the shade of trees
- Free parking at the forest entrance
- It's worth taking binoculars for the walk - you can spot interesting bird species at the ponds

Parking and Picnic Area
At the parking lot, you will find a large clearing with a place for a bonfire, covered picnic tables, and educational boards. It's a great place to rest and have a family gathering.

Forest Road from Parking to Fish Ponds
For about 3 kilometers after entering the forest, there is a wide asphalt road with no traffic - ideal for biking, rollerblading, scootering, or walking with a stroller.
The reserve area is covered with oak-pine forests, and during the walk, you can see large oaks and linden trees. The meandering Kisielina River flows through the protected area.

Picturesque Fish Ponds
The road leads to the forest fish ponds, where fish farming is quite intensive. These ponds are characterized by well-developed coastal vegetation. Birds forage among the reeds. The presence of fish also attracts larger birds - it's worth bringing binoculars to better observe them.
During our trip, a kingfisher flew just above the water surface.

While in Wierzchosławice, it's worth visiting the Wincenty Witos Museum
The museum not only introduces us to the figure of the activist and politician but also shows what life in the countryside used to look like. In the rooms, you can see typical village kitchen equipment: a tiled kitchen stove, irons with a soul, a washboard, clay dishes, butter churns, and many other items used by village housewives.
