The Most Venomous Spider in Poland!

In the Jurassic caves, including Nietoperzowa Cave, you can encounter the most venomous spider in Poland - the Cave Spider (Meta menardi). Cavers who frequently come into contact with the Cave Spider say that its bite causes pain comparable to a wasp or even hornet sting. Fortunately, in the worst case, it only results in significant swelling.

Bats in Nietoperzowa Cave

They look like small, dried plums hanging from the ceiling. Have you ever wondered why bats sleep hanging upside down? And why don't they fall during sleep?

Cave ceilings are inaccessible places for predators, providing shelter and safety. Bats can sleep peacefully there. The tendons in their fingers tighten under the weight of their bodies in such a way that when the animal relaxes, its feet and claws grip around the perches.
