Visiting the Museum of Photography with children is a great place to think together about how and why we take photos. It's also worth learning about the history of photography, its importance in history, and what the future holds for it.

Permanent Exhibition at the Museum of Photography in Krakow
The permanent exhibition at MuFo is titled "What Does a Photo Do?" This question can be understood in several ways: purely technically, meaning what we use to take photos, but also what photos do to us, our understanding and perception of the world, our memory, and our recollections.

The first part of the exhibition focuses on the history of photography and the various techniques used to create it. Later, we have the chance to see a mini-gallery of photography masters. The mysterious story of this album is also very interesting:

Be sure to go to the upper level of the exhibition to learn about the future of photography (strollers can use the elevator).

On the first floor, we are greeted by a mirrored room with a display of various cameras: from the oldest box models to modern digital cameras and smartphones.

Finally, we will learn about the most modern techniques that use photography. We will find out how online maps are created and how artificial intelligence takes photos.

Museum of Photography - Attractions for Children
Children will surely enjoy the multimedia screens, the film about the creation of photography, and all the places where they can touch something, like the camera obscura and photo puzzles. We also really liked this model of a photo studio (and the dog, as a touchable object, can be petted!).

The museum organizes activities and workshops for different age groups, schools, and families with children. It's worth checking out the current offerings!
