Moszna Castle is a unique place on the map of Polish castles. Its complex structure makes an unforgettable impression - supposedly, there are 99 towers and turrets, as well as 365 rooms! The palace in Moszna also offers the opportunity to visit the interiors, climb the observation tower, and enjoy a restaurant, hotel, and beautiful park. The castle has an interesting history, its own devil, and a "White Lady."
Fairytale Castle - Polish Hogwarts
The unique architecture fascinates everyone, regardless of age: the youngest ones (as well as parents and grandparents) feel like they are in a fairy tale world, while older children may feel like they have stepped into the pages of a Harry Potter book. Did you know that you can also stay overnight here? That's an adventure in itself!
Moszna Castle - visiting, tickets
Admission to the castle grounds and park is paid. Separate tickets are purchased for visiting the interiors. You can choose between a shorter route: visiting the representative halls (about 1 hour) and a longer one called "Everyday Life in the Castle" (about 100 minutes). The tour is not accessible for strollers and wheelchairs due to many stairs and the lack of elevators.
Park near Moszna Palace

Moszna Castle - history and legends
Apparently, the current castle was built on the ruins of an older stronghold belonging to the Templars (although this has not been confirmed).
Devils at Moszna Castle
The fact that such a grand building was constructed in record time for the 19th century, just three years, led the local population to believe that the devil was involved. According to legend, the count made a pact with the devil, offering his soul as payment for the castle's construction. The devil supposedly also guards the only elevator in the castle - a private elevator used by the count to access the library. However, he made it clear that no one else should use it. After his death, it was said that the devil himself would enforce this rule. When there was an attempt to renovate and operate the historic elevator recently, lightning struck the conservator's house. The work on the elevator was halted.
White Lady of Moszna Castle
The fairytale castle also has its "White Lady." It is said that the ghost of an English governess who tragically fell in love with the owner of the palace roams the castle. She jumped from a tower. Although she wanted to be buried "on the Islands," which means in her native England, she was buried on an island in the park. A skeleton in one of the castle's towers serves as a reminder of her.
PS. While visiting Moszna Castle, it's worth taking a look at Opole too:
Opole - What to See?
Opole has pleasantly surprised us - the city itself is not big, the distances between places are small, yet Opole offers plenty of green spaces, walking paths, car-free streets, cozy cafes, and relaxation spots. ...
