Black Trout Adit

This is a section of the operational adit, which drains water, open for visitors. The tour of the 'Black Trout' adit is done by boat - one of the longest underground boat passages in Europe. First, we descend one of the shafts by winding stairs to a depth of about 30 meters, then we sail a section of 600 m by boat. The exit is via stairs through another shaft. The name of the adit actually comes from the trout swimming in the water, which in the underground (lit only by lamps) seemed to be completely black.

  • The adit tour takes about 45 minutes.
  • The maximum water depth is 1.10 m.
  • The tour is available for children from 4 years old.
  • The adit is located 5 km from the Historic Silver Mine, tickets can be purchased on the mine's website

Park in Repty and the Drama River Valley

The entrance to the Black Trout Adit is located within the reserve in Repty - a historic park with some of the oldest trees in Upper Silesia, described in mining books from the 16th century as 'buczyna repecka'. The Drama River flows through the park. The waters from the outlet of the Black Trout Adit flow into the Drama. Near the park, at the St. Nicholas Church in Repty Silesia, you can see a specimen of edible chestnut!
