There are places so unique and special that they are hard to describe - without a doubt, the Góra Zborów Nature Reserve is one of the most beautiful spots in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland.

  • The trails in the reserve are rocky and sometimes steep - it's worth wearing good shoes, like hiking boots.
  • There are two parking lots: a larger one at the Nature and Cultural Heritage Center of the Upland (where you can buy tickets to the Głęboka Cave) and a smaller, wild parking lot at the entrance to the red trail (the shortest trail to Góra Zborów).

Góra Zborów - Witch Legends

According to legends, witches used to gather on this hill to fly on their brooms to sabbaths held on the nearby Łysa Góra in the Świętokrzyskie Mountains (the name 'zbór' means gathering). The treeless top of the hill is an excellent viewpoint - the highest point in the former Częstochowa province at 467.5 meters above sea level. It's said that from the top, you can see three castles: Ogrodzieniec, Bobolice, and Mirów. Unfortunately, the post-rain fog made it hard for us to see, but it was very atmospheric!
