Gorc Student Tent Camp is a unique, quiet, and friendly place in the Gorce Mountains (southern Poland), with a wonderful view of the Tatra Mountains. You can stop here to rest, have a hot drink, and also stay overnight.

Student tent camps in Poland are simple, low-cost camping spots in the mountains, usually run by volunteers. For hikers, they offer a place to rest, boiling water from the camp stove, and sometimes a small camp souvenir. You can sleep in your own tent or borrow a camp tent for a small fee. Facilities are basic: there is an outhouse (pit toilet) and a simple outdoor shower.

The camp below Gorc Peak is run by the Student Mountain Guides Club from Kraków (SKPG). Compared to other similar places, it has a calm, intimate atmosphere. It sits a little away from the main long-distance trails, so it is quieter and feels like a hidden spot.

How to get to the Gorc Student Tent Camp?
The easiest way is from the summit of Gorc — it takes about 15 minutes. If you visit the lookout tower on the top (for example via the blue trail from Lubomierz or the black trail from Szczawa), continue on the blue trail. When you reach the end of the blue trail (sometimes shown as a dot on maps), switch to the green trail to the camp. Note: in Poland, trail colors are route markers, not difficulty levels.

You can also join the green trail in the village of Ochotnica Dolna. From the bus stop “Ochotnica Dolna Ośrodek Zdrowia” (Health Center) it is about 7 km (about 2 h 45 min; 600 m of ascent). Another option is from the area of Turbacz peak: from the PTTK Turbacz Mountain Hut (Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society) follow the red trail to Jaworzyna Kamienicka, then the green trail — in total about 12 km (about 3 h 30 min; around 300 m of ascent).
