Chechło - what does the name mean?
In Old Polish language, the word 'chechły' meant marshes and wet meadows, and 'chechłać' - to hand wash, to soap. In Poland, you will also find a place called Chechło, as well as Nakło-Chechło Lake.
Chechło Reservoir - swimming area and beach
There is a large sandy beach by the swimming area, the water is shallow for a long time, which is a big plus for children. The beach is guarded by a lifeguard during the season. There are showers, changing rooms and toilets - their standard is quite okay.
Shade and barbecue areas
Right next to the beach and swimming area, there is a small shaded area - so it can get quite crowded. The shade is located near the beach and swimming area. There are designated areas - gazebos for barbecuing by the reservoir.
Playground
Above the swimming area, there is an interesting playground with a slide in the shape of a metal pipe, climbing ropes and swings. The entire playground is in full sun. Next to the playground, there are exercise equipment for adults - the so-called 'health path'.
Brine graduation tower
In the shade of the trees, by the reservoir, you will find a small brine graduation tower. There are benches next to it.
Dulowska Forest
Chechło Reservoir is located near Dulowska Forest with hiking and biking trails.
Easy
Puszcza Dulowska - by bike and with a baby stroller
Our opinion
Chechło Reservoir is a nice swimming area for local residents or for example when we are nearby - rather not for a trip from further away. Besides the small swimming area itself, it doesn't have much to offer... You will find a much larger and better-maintained infrastructure in the nearby Sosina Reservoir in Jaworzno (entrance is free). We also liked the second swimming area in Trzebinia - Balaton (here the entrance is paid).
