New Old Town

When at the end of World War II battles were fought between Polish and German troops, the city was almost completely destroyed! New buildings were built on the site of the Old Town, which were incorporated into the old, surviving ones - thus the New Old Town was created. One of the oldest streets in Kołobrzeg is Dubois Street. It has an arcuate character, which suggests that it ran along the former, medieval defensive walls, of which two towers have survived to this day.
