Easy route to Śnieżnica - loop from Gruszowiec
At Przełęcz Gruszowiec, near Bar pod Cycem, there is a free parking lot for several cars. From here, we can start our hike to Śnieżnica or to the Ćwilin peak on the other side of the pass.
Yes, it will be uphill. But the path is wide and rocky - you will definitely manage!
Initially, the blue and green trails go together. After a few hundred meters, the blue trail turns right, while the green one continues along the road towards the retreat center.
The blue trail is shorter but steeper.
We prefer to go up steeply rather than descend (especially when the road is covered in slippery, melting snow), so we went up to Śnieżnica on the blue trail and descended on the green trail.

A narrow, steep path leads to a clearing with views to the north (unfortunately, during our trip, it was still too icy).
You can also walk to the upper station of the ski lift (green trail) for more views. From the green trail, you can also see the Tatra Mountains:
Taking the cable car to Śnieżnica
The green trail to Śnieżnica follows a circular route, passing by the retreat center and the upper station of the Kasina Ski ski lift. The path is wide, comfortable, and rocky, although it continuously goes uphill, and in total, we cover the same elevation gain as on the blue trail. It will take us a bit longer to reach the summit (about 1.5 hours).

Additional attractions on the green trail include informational and educational boards and benches along the way, and even a larger shelter with tables (near the retreat center).
Zielony szlak na Śnieżnicę prowadzi okrężną drogą, koło ośrodka rekolekcyjnego i górnej stacji narciarskiej Kasina Ski. Droga jest szeroka, wygodna, kamienista, chociaż oczywiście cały czas wspina się w górę i w sumie pokonujemy taką samą wysokość jak w przypadku niebieskiego szlaku. Wejście zajmie nam trochę dłużej niż niebieskim (ok 1,5 godz.).
My wybraliśmy ją na zejście ze szczytu:
Dodatkowe atrakcje na zielonym szlaku to tablice informacyjno-edukacyjne i ławeczki po drodze, a nawet większa wiata ze stołami (przy ośrodku rekolekcyjnym).
Niestety szeroka droga sprawia, że spotkamy tu też quady i motory...
Śnieżnica z Gruszowa - informacje praktyczne
- Podsumowując: pętla niebieski i zielonym szlakiem to dobry wybór jeśli szukamy pomysłu na niedługą, łatwą trasę na rodzinną górską wycieczkę.
- Warto wziąć po uwagę to, że cały czas będziemy wędrować południowym stokiem. Ma to plusy wiosną i jesienią, kiedy jesteśmy spragnieni słońca, ale może być uciążliwe w upalny letni dzień.
- Posilić możemy się w barze/restauracji na przełęczy. W górnej stacji kolejki z Kasiny w marcu 2022 r. nie działały żadne punkty gastronomiczne, ale biorąc pod uwagę, że budynek jest duży, ze sporym tarasem, być może latem i tu się coś pojawi?
