Riva del Garda and Monte Brione Hill - Easy Trails for Children
Monte Brione is not a high hill (376 m), but a very characteristic hill located above Lake Garda between the towns of Riva del Garda and Torbole. It gently rises from the town of Riva del Garda and ends with a steep slope, resembling a disk emerging from the ground. Easy trails on this extraordinary "disk" with a beautiful view of the lake are suitable for a trip with children.
Monte Brione - cycling trail
The easiest route to Monte Brione is an asphalt pedestrian and cycling path. The entrance to it is at the end of Via Monte Brione street. The path leads us between olive groves with a stunning view of the lake. It is peaceful, idyllic, and quiet here. It is worth noting that this path is sunny, as the olive trees provide minimal shade.
Monte Brione - hiking trail
A shorter but steeper and more rugged hiking trail runs close to the edge of the cliff (secured with a net). The hill is small enough that we recommend exploring both trails, as you will find many idyllic spots and viewpoints.
Fortresses on Monte Brione
On Monte Brione, you can see military fortresses. Fort Garda could accommodate up to 200 soldiers and was a strategic defense point during World War I.
