Ostryszni Gorge - walk from Glan贸w to Imbramowice

A black-marked walking trail runs through the dry Ostryszni valley and links the villages of Glan贸w and Imbramowice. You can start from either end. From Glan贸w it is mostly downhill; from Imbramowice it is mostly uphill. In Poland the trail color is only a waymark, not a difficulty grade.

In Glan贸w the black trail first follows a fairly narrow path from the road into the forest. In the forest the track is wider and easier. It gently descends toward the fields near Zawadka. After about 30 minutes of forest walking you reach the main part of the gorge and the highlights of this route: photogenic limestone rock outcrops.

Rocks in Ostryszni Gorge

Walking from Glan贸w, the first thing you see is a huge rock wall called the Organs. A small rock with the most fairy-tale name here, "New Home of the Wild Strawberries", is hidden a little higher in the forest. Next come the rocks called Greenhouse, Casket, Anvil and Box.

After the junction with the path toward the Ostrysz housing area, you will pass rocks named Piano, Crossroads Rock, Great Ostryszni Rock and Needle. The last group of rocks, close to the edge of the forest, are called Projectiles, Sanatorium, Baths and Gate. If you go closer you will notice metal anchors fixed in the rock. They are artificial aids for climbers, as there are many climbing routes here.
