The black trail from Konina to the scenic peak of Turbaczyk is a new route, marked in August 2023. This short and relatively easy climb will lead us to a beautiful meadow with a panorama of the Zywiecki, Makowski and Wyspowy Beskids.

Start of the black trail in Konina, parking

The black trail starts from Konina Halamy towards Turbaczyk along the main road, next to a small shop and a PKS bus stop. Unfortunately, there is no designated parking here, just a small bay for shop customers. It will be safer to leave your car in the designated parking lot a few hundred meters away.

From the main road, we walk through fields to the edge of the forest. The view here is also great! Make sure you look back!

After entering the forest, it gets steeper. The forest road is quite worn out in places (this is not yet the area of the Gorce National Park).

Gorce National Park

After about an hour of climbing through the forest, we will reach the border of the Gorce National Park (we cross a red-marked walking path at this point). This means two things: first, we are already "halfway" there, and second, we are subject to the GNP regulations: we should buy entrance tickets (which can be done online), we cannot bring dogs, go off the trail, or pick fruits and mushrooms.

After about 1.5 hours from the start of the trail, we will reach a not very extensive meadow under the not very prominent peak of Turbaczyk. Here we will find an information board of the GPN, a picnic table with benches, but above all a beautiful view: from Babia Gora and Polica in the west, through the gentle hills of the Makowski Beskids to the green islands of the Wyspowy Beskids:

Return, route to Turbacz, or loop from Turbaczyk

From Turbaczyk we can return the same way to Konina (the descent will take us about 45 min. We can also continue the hike along the green trail, which runs through Polana Turbaczyk. We will descend "down" to Niedzwiedz (less than 2 hours), or turning later for yellow signs to Koninki (about 1 hour).

We can also go up the green trail: to the Forehead of Turbacz and the scenic Hala Turbacz (about 1.5 hours), or to the very Turbacz (about 2 hours).

An interesting option is also a loop, which will take us back to the trail entrance point, i.e. we climb the green signs to the Forehead of Turbacz. At Hala Turbacz we turn onto the yellow trail, which leads us through the Borek Pass to the beautiful Pustak meadow (view of the Tatra Mountains!). From Pustak we descend the black trail through another scenic meadow (Kepa) straight to the parking lot in Konina. This entire loop is about 17 km, along the way we overcome a height difference of 1040 m. The route can be completed in about 6 hours.

PS. You can also reach Turbaczyk, for example, by the green trail from Niedzwiedz. Here on the way there is an additional attraction: a whole lot of places associated with Wladyslaw Orkan:
