The scenic meadow at Leskowiec is one of our favorite places in the Beskid Mały mountains. This time, we reached it via the "Szlak skałek" or "Rocky Trail", which is a green trail starting from Targoszów and passing through Czarna Góra, Na Beskidzie peak, and Potrójna. Although there weren't many rocks along the way, we did come across a magnificent cave!

There is a small parking lot by the road in Targoszów (if you arrive late, you may need to find a spot in smaller parking areas). Initially, the trail is easy: we walk through the forest, then along the edge of a meadow, and cross the settlement of Ćwiękałówka on an asphalt road.

From there, we climb up the ridge on a forest path. It is steep at first, but it becomes much easier after reaching the unmarked summit of Czarna Góra.

Although we continue to ascend, the trail becomes less strenuous. Soon, we reach a junction with the red trail leading to Smrekowica.

Ridge walk in the Leskowiec range

From here, we embark on a pleasant walk along the forested ridge, heading towards Leskowiec. Every now and then, we are treated to beautiful views, such as the cottage on Potrójna peak.

We pass several unmarked peaks, but pay attention: between the Na Beskidzie and Potrójna peaks on the right side, there is a wonderful (especially for children!) group of rocks with a "cave", or rather a small cave-like opening that is perfect for your kids to explore and play in!

From here, it is another enjoyable 45-minute walk along the ridge to reach Leskowiec.

Summit and meadow at Leskowiec

At the meadow atop Leskowiec, we are rewarded with the long-awaited view, especially of the Queen of the Beskids: Babia Góra, as well as other nearby peaks.

Leskowiec PTTK Shelter

If you want to visit the shelter, you can take a detour from our marked loop and follow a wide path through a beech forest (approximately 15 minutes one way). You can find more information about Leskowiec, the shelter, and Gron Jana Pawła II.

Leskowiec is one of the most popular peaks in the Beskid Mały Mountains. On the summit (992 meters above sea level), beautiful views await us, and just below: a friendly PTTK shelter. ...

Yellow trail Leskowiec - Targoszów

To descend to Targoszów, we follow the yellow trail, which leads us directly back to the starting point. This is our favorite trail down from Leskowiec because it offers almost constant views of Babia Góra!

Attention! When the trail reaches a small settlement, the accompanying yellow papal trail turns right onto an asphalt road, while the yellow PTTK trail continues straight through the buildings towards the meadow. Unfortunately, this section of the trail is poorly marked and may seem like entering someone's backyard. Of course, it is better to go straight: it is shorter and leads through the meadow instead of the road.
