The shortest and fastest trail to Markowe Szczawiny shelter.
We start from a large, paved parking lot in Zawoi-Markowe, above the Babiogórski National Park Headquarters.
It is not as crowded as at Krowiarki Pass - you can also find a place here in the middle of the day, during the season and on weekends.
Right next to the parking lot, there is a large and interesting playground:
The start of the green trail in Zawoi - Markowe
Initially, the path is for a warm-up: wide, forested, and gently ascending.
The "stairs" begin after entering the forest - it gradually becomes steeper...
For now, we have two options: the trail leads through a narrow forest path, and parallel to it, there is a wide access road (but also steep).
The second half of the green trail is a regular climb, practically without any flat sections. After the stairs, there are stone steps.
Additionally, in the sparse forest, we will be walking south on a sunny day...
After about 1.5 hours, we will reach our destination: the PTTK Markowe Szczawiny shelter, where we can rest and enjoy lunch, snacks, drinks, and souvenirs.
Return to the parking lot:
- the same way,
- slightly longer but gentler on the black and blue trails,
- or an even longer loop, i.e., descending on the yellow trail to Zawoi - Czatoża and reaching Zawoi Markowe on the blue trail.
