Góra Parkowa (Park Mountain) is a hill in the center of the spa town of Krynica-Zdrój, in the Sądecki Beskid Mountains in southern Poland. Its summit is 742 m above sea level (2,434 ft). The slopes form a forest city park with many attractions. Its rich history and great views make it a place worth visiting.

Góra Parkowa Funicular

The main attraction of Góra Parkowa is the historic funicular, operating since 1937 and one of the oldest in Poland. The ride offers wide views of Krynica-Zdrój and the surrounding mountain ranges. The lower station is in the town center, next to the pedestrian promenade, so it is easy to reach for visitors and spa guests.

Historic wooden church

Just behind the monument to the poet Adam Mickiewicz stands a small wooden church: the Church of the Transfiguration and Our Lady of Częstochowa in Krynica-Zdrój. Built in 1863, it was the first spa church, also known as the chapel at “Dietlówka”.

Swan Pond

Swan Pond lies on the nature path leading up Góra Parkowa. It is a landslide-formed pond and the largest of the ponds on the hill. It is a pleasant rest stop, with benches; ducks and swans swim in the water. Around it grow many trees, including Canadian hemlock and Japanese umbrella-pine.

Michasiowa Glade and Gazebo, and the Bocianówka spring

Along the alley up Góra Parkowa, just above Swan Pond, stands a wooden structure with a steep roof — the Michasiowa Gazebo. Next to it is a meadow with benches — another good rest spot. The gazebo and glade are named in honor of Michał Zieleniewski, a spa doctor who worked in Krynica for over 30 years.

Follow the path along Michasiowa Glade to a small spring called Bocianówka. According to local legend, couples who drink its water will soon have children.
