A bike route from Krakow to Ojc贸w, which is an alternative to the most popular red trail called "Eagle's Nests". Thanks to this route, we can avoid both the bumpy P臋kowicka Street and the construction area of the bypass near Czerwony Mostek.

Cycling from Krakow to Ojc贸w

The most popular cycling (and hiking) route from Krakow to Ojc贸w follows the red trail from Krowoderski Park through Zielonki, P臋kowice, Giebu艂t贸w, and Pr膮dnik Korzkiewski:

However, this route encounters a significant obstacle: the construction site of the northern bypass of the city. Moreover, the bumpy P臋kowicka Street can also discourage further travel... Meanwhile, by starting from Bronowice, we can bypass both problematic sections!

Bronowice - Jurajska Street

We start the trip on a comfortable bike path along Jasnog贸rska Street. From other parts of Krakow, we can easily reach here by train (Bronowice railway station), bus, car (parking lots near Galeria Bronowice and Ikea)... or of course, by bike!

The bike path along Jasnog贸rska Street is separated from car traffic, but in a few places, it intersects with side streets - so caution is advised, especially when cycling with young riders.

Gaik Street - Tonie - P臋kowice

We continue on the bike path until we reach the Krak贸w Fortress Trail (marked with yellow-black-yellow signs), where we turn into Gaik Street.

ATTENTION! Now we have a 3 km stretch on public roads without a bike path or shoulder. Fortunately, these are residential roads, but remember to exercise caution and ensure the safety of less experienced participants on the trip.

Gaik Street leads to Tonie. Here, we need to cross the busy 艁okietka Street and immediately turn left into Na Zielonki Street.

After a while, we will see the viaduct of the new bypass. We turn left into Jurajska Street (still following the yellow-black-yellow signs).

We pass under the viaduct, climb a slightly challenging hill, and we are already in P臋kowice!

Red Trail of the Eagle's Nests - Giebu艂t贸w

In P臋kowice, we join the main red trail "from Krakow to Ojc贸w":

P臋kowice - access to the red trail of the Eagle
P臋kowice - access to the red trail of the Eagle's Nests

We ride on the shoulder of a quiet country road, where on weekends, there are definitely more cyclists than cars.

Upon reaching Giebu艂t贸w, a significant stretch of bike path awaits us. After passing the church, we return to a country road until reaching the Giebu艂t贸w public transport loop. If you feel like taking a break, you will find a large playground here and a restaurant with a mini zoo called "Wilczy Apetyt na Szlaku" a little further.

Kwietniowe Do艂y - Pr膮dnik Korzkiewski

Just before entering the forest, there is a viewpoint overlooking the city and the Beskid hills. Meanwhile, we enter the forest. The path is narrow and steep in some places - sometimes it's worth getting off the bike and walking for a while.

After leaving the forest, we cross the road (Weso艂a Street) and continue on Swawola Street.

Do you see the stream on the right? Yes, we are already in the Pr膮dnik Valley! Look around carefully: the first limestone rocks will soon appear!

We have arrived! Ahead of us are murmuring streams, meadows, forests, and rocks. Soon, we will find ourselves at the "Krak贸w Gate," the "Well of Love," and Ojc贸w Castle. What is worth seeing here?

Ojcowski National Park

Ojcowski National Park

This is the smallest national park in Poland! But as the old saying goes, "small is beautiful" - so what will we see in Ojc贸w? ...

PS. Along the way, there are plenty of dining options (especially during the season) and two springs with drinking water sources. If we are concerned about whether our group can complete the entire route, we can shorten the distance and start from Giebu艂t贸w, which can be reached by MPK buses (line 220 from Krowodrza G贸rka). There is a large parking lot near the church, and a few cars can also fit at the bus loop.
