Błędowska Desert – Poland's Sahara
Błędowska Desert is one of the most unique places in Poland, often called "Poland's Sahara." While it doesn't have the climate of a real desert, the landscape is impressive! You'll see stretches of sand, dunes, and a wide panorama with little vegetation.
Błędowska Desert is located between the regions of Małopolska and Silesia, near the towns of Klucze, Chechło, and Błędów (a district of Dąbrowa Górnicza). It's the largest area of loose sands in Poland, covering about 32 square kilometers!

Błędowska Desert - Path for Strollers, Bikes, and Even Rollerblades!
Along the northern and eastern edges of the desert, there is a paved path made of concrete slabs. This makes exploring the desert comfortable and enjoyable. You can walk, use a stroller, ride a bike, or even rollerblade!
We saw quite a few rollerbladers on the path, although it's not smooth asphalt, and some sand does blow onto it.

Starting Point - Wind Rose
The Wind Rose is a wooden platform shaped like a compass rose, which is a central square with paths leading in different directions (symbolizing the cardinal points). Here, you can find viewing terraces to admire the vast sandy spaces and educational boards with interesting facts about the desert's history, geology, and nature.
The Wind Rose is an excellent starting point - you could say it's the "main entrance to the desert." It's easy to reach from the parking area in the town of Chechło.
The bike path also starts from the Wind Rose.

Biking or Strolling through Błędowska Desert
The path takes you along the edge of the desert, mostly in the sun, but there are some shaded areas. Along the way, there are wooden shelters with roofs and benches where you can rest.

Wooden Bridges over Biała Przemsza – A New, Unique Spot on the Błędowska Desert Trail
One of the most extraordinary places in Błędowska Desert is the wooden bridges over the Biała Przemsza River. This new infrastructure connects the desert landscape with the lush, green river valley. The bridges are located in the southern part of Błędowska Desert, near the Wind Rose, around the town of Chechło. You can quickly reach them by biking from the Wind Rose.

Getting to the Dąbrówka Viewpoint
The bridges lead to a wide, gravel road that takes you to the viewpoint. This part of the trail is not flat and easy anymore. You go uphill - the viewpoint is on a hill.
