Rail trolley rides are an unusual but very interesting attraction. Instead of pushing it manually, we usually have the opportunity to pedal it like a bicycle. Bicycle trolleys can be found, among others, in Uherce Mineralne - a atmospheric railway station at the threshold of the Bieszczady Mountains.

Rail trolley rides in the Bieszczady Mountains

In the Bieszczady Mountains themselves, we will come across many abandoned railway tracks that were once used by forestry trains for timber transport. Today, they are used, among others, by the Bieszczady Forest Railway in Majdan near Cisna. However, the opportunity to ride a bicycle trolley is available in Uherce Mineralne, between Lesko and Ustrzyki Dolne.

Uherce Mineralne Railway Station

Before setting off on a trolley ride, it is worth stopping at the renovated railway station building itself. It is a very atmospheric place arranged with creativity and good taste!

In addition to the ticket office, there is also a large shop with regional souvenirs and publications (books, CDs) as well as a food outlet (drinks, waffles, baked goods, fries, ice cream). On the other side of the tracks, there is another attraction: "the house standing on its head", or rather "on the roof" - Chatka Wariatka.

Practical Information about Uherce Mineralne Bicycle Trolleys

  • Make sure to reserve your trolley in advance (e.g., online), as this attraction is very popular during the summer season!
  • Trolley riding - especially uphill - requires a lot of effort! It is advisable to have spare riders, and if you are unsure about your fitness level, choose a shorter route.
  • Up to 5 people can travel in one trolley, including children.
  • The fee is per trolley, regardless of the number of people.
  • The saddle height is adjustable, and the brake is located on one of the pedaling seats.
  • We can bring a dog on board the trolley. However, consider whether it is a good idea (see below).
  • During the ride, there is considerable noise, and the trolley does not glide smoothly on the tracks like a Pendolino: it vibrates, rattles, and makes strange noises. This may not be appealing to infants, sensitive children, or even fearful dogs.
  • On a sunny day, remember to wear a hat and sunscreen - the routes mainly pass through sunny meadows.
  • We can use the toilet at the railway station before and after the ride.
