The Garden of Experiences named after S. Lem in Krakow is a garden located in the Lotnik贸w Park, with an interactive outdoor exhibition of several dozen educational installations that playfully introduce the laws of physics.
What will we see in the Garden of Experiences?
Spread over six hectares of park greenery, there are original, large devices designed to stimulate thinking, teach, and also entertain, making learning enjoyable regardless of age. The devices are grouped thematically: optics, magnetism, hydrostatics, acoustics, and mechanics.
Each installation is described, explaining how to use it and the physical phenomenon we observe.
The garden was primarily created for older children, but younger ones should not be bored there either!
Children will surely enjoy things like mirrors, rotating color discs, tubular bells to strike with a stick, gongs, xylophones, a textured path (a path made of various stones and materials that we walk on with socks), and a voice tube (standing next to the tube, we can hear the voice of someone far away from us - like playing telephone).
What's new in the Garden of Experiences?
Have you already been to the Garden of Experiences? Visit again and be surprised!
Recently, many new installations have been created here, including "scientific playgrounds": an amazing playground, a sandy planet, and a scientific gym.
Each "playground device" also has a plaque describing the physical phenomenon we experience.
Additional attractions in the Garden of Experiences
In addition to the installations and playgrounds, the Garden of Experiences also offers other attractions such as a scent garden, Geo-Gr贸dek (a geological garden), and Lem's Labyrinth (a labyrinth with quotes from the works of the garden's patron, Stanis艂aw Lem).
Additional paid attractions include a planetarium, a gyroscope, and a toboggan track (one ride included in the ticket price).
