Touring the Stained Glass Museum in Krakow

The Stained Glass Workshop and Museum is located in a historic building from the early 20th century, built specifically for the needs of the stained glass workshop: Krakow's S. G. 呕ele艅ski Stained Glass Company. All preserved furniture and equipment are original.

The tour route covers two floors, with no elevator. Visitors can watch the process of creating stained glass directly above the heads of artists and craftsmen. A guide accompanies museum guests, telling them about the history of the place and the process of making stained glass.

Stained Glass Gallery

The stained glass exhibition is the final stage of the visit to the workshop. Here, we can see historical stained glass, almost a hundred years old, as well as new ones created based on old designs.

The most impressive piece is the stained glass "Apollo. Copernicus System" by S. Wyspia艅ski, located in a specially arranged space. Can you recognize the personifications of the individual planets?

Stained Glass Museum with Children - Workshops

The Stained Glass Museum invites children especially to "Saturday Morning Stained Glass". The activities start with a guided tour of the working workshop. Children learn concepts like living museum, workshop, and stained glass. During the tour, they observe masters at work, can hold tools and brushes, and "paint" a stained glass face.

After the tour, there are workshops - art classes. Children who have already participated in the tour can come later and join only the "practical" part.

Practical Information:

  • The building is not adapted for people with disabilities, and it is also not possible to move around with strollers (they can be left in the museum cafe).
  • The museum has a gift shop (including, of course, stained glass) and a cafe.
