Family Ride on a Rail Cart in Regulice
Regulice Station (near Alwernia) offers a unique attraction: rail cart rides!
You can choose between two routes: 7 km: Regulice - Nieporaz - Regulice and 11.5 km: Regulice - Nieporaz - Alwernia - Regulice. There are 4 "bicycle" rail carts (you pedal like on a bike) and 1 traditional, hand-powered rail cart.
The rail carts are for 4 people: two people pedal, and 2 sit on a bench. You can take a fifth person, but only if it's a child under 10 years old.
The ride takes about 1-2 hours (depending on the route).
Rail Carts in Regulice - Attractions
The attraction is the unusual way of traveling and exploring the route.
Additionally: views of the surroundings, including Triassic rocks, a local vineyard, and a melaphyre quarry.
With Kids on Rail Carts in Regulice - Practical Information
- There is parking and a toilet (a decent white booth) on site.
- At the Regulice station building (open only before the ride), you need to buy the ordered tickets (cardboard like in the old days:), you can also buy 'railway' souvenirs and learn about the station's history.
- No food services! During the trip, you can put backpacks in specially prepared baskets on the rail carts and have snacks.
- Attention! You must book the rail cart in advance (for a specific day and time).
- Children can also try pedaling (our 4-year-old couldn't manage yet), younger kids can sit and enjoy the views. Our one-and-a-half-year-old liked the sound of the wheels and fell asleep in a carrier during the ride.
- No stopping on the route! (if you drop something, report it to the staff)
- Platform size is 2.2 x 1.75 m
