Rabsztyn Castle - sightseeing
The castle ruins have gained more tourist attractiveness after recent reconstruction. A viewing tower has been added (accessed by metal and stone stairs). You can also see a model-reconstruction of the castle in a room above the entrance gate. Knight tournaments are organized at the castle, but besides these events, the area is very peaceful - there is no commercial infrastructure like souvenir stands and fast-food stalls. Around the castle, there are several benches and extensive meadows - perfect for a family picnic!
Paid parking is available. Near the parking lot, there is a reconstruction of a pre-war hut of a glider constructor - A. Kocjan (inside there are informational boards, a living room, entrance fee required).
The approach from the parking lot is on a hardened, rocky road (about 10-15 minutes). It is possible to bring strollers, but especially with small wheels, it may be more convenient to push the stroller on the grass... Entering the castle grounds with a stroller is not possible (uneven terrain, stairs). You can leave the stroller at the ticket office at the gate.
There are toilets at the parking lot and portable toilets near the castle. Near the parking lot, there is a grocery store and two restaurants: Karczma Podzamcze (high chairs for feeding, playground - but during busy times, you may have to wait for a meal for about 1-1.5 hours...). Additionally, there is the Zamkowa Restaurant (in an old style, entrance via stairs, simple and tasty meals).
