Pieskowa Skala Castle - Directions and Parking
There are two parking lots near the castle:
1) Paid unguarded parking under Maczuga Herkulesa - the entrance is very overgrown, and the path to Maczuga and the castle from this side is very steep and difficult for a parent holding a child's hand.
2) Paid unguarded parking at the intersection of roads to Skała, Sułoszowa, and Wielmoża
Pieskowa Skala Castle
Located on a large limestone cliff called Maczuga Herkulesa, Pieskowa Skala Castle is one of the most famous castles in Poland! It is situated within the Ojców National Park and is one of the castles known as the "Eagle Nests" - castles commissioned by King Kazimierz Wielki as part of a defensive chain to protect the borders of the Kingdom of Poland and trade routes. The castle houses a museum, but its original furnishings and equipment have not been preserved, and the collection comes from the Royal Castle on Wawel Hill. For visitors with infants, we recommend using a baby carrier or a sling - "kocie łby" - in the courtyard, as there are stairs at the entrances to the museum and in the cloisters. For visitors with strollers, there is an elevator in the restaurant area that provides access to the observation terrace. The castle also has a restaurant with a beautiful panoramic terrace.
