The Museum of Engineering and Technology is a modernized space of the former Museum of Municipal Engineering in Krakow. Since spring 2023, you can visit the new exhibition "City. Technotenderness". The museum is located in the oldest Krakow horse and electric tram depot, which was built in stages at the end of the 19th and early 20th centuries. In addition to the history of urban transportation development, you can learn the secrets of technology and physics.
- All rooms are accessible for visitors with strollers (or in wheelchairs), and you can move between different levels using elevators.
- Children will definitely enjoy the "green hand" stations, where you can touch, build, and experiment.

City. Technotenderness - New Exhibition at the Museum of Engineering and Technology
The new permanent exhibition at the museum on 艢w. Wawrzy艅ca Street is a real journey through time: from ancient times to the present, and even the future and space stations.

The journey through the history of urban engineering and technology starts from ancient times and inventions known since the Roman Empire. Here you will learn, among other things, how Roman roads were built (animation), how an abacus with Roman numerals works, and how pulleys function.

Tram Depot and Old Tram Models
Here you will find the first Polish tram (only two of them have survived to this day!). Type C tram cars were used on Warsaw lines until 1956. The car is made of wood and could accommodate sixty passengers, who could take one of the twenty-four seats or stand in one of the thirty-six standing places.

LAB Zone
In the LAB Zone, at specially prepared stations, you can conduct experiments yourself - all to better understand the basic units of the SI system.

On the way to modernity, we will also hear about the steam engine and the discovery of electricity. In this space, you will also see a collection of antique typewriters.

Automotive Heritage
In one of the rooms, there are real gems for car enthusiasts! Here you will see, among others, the Mikrus car (the turquoise one in the photo), which was supposed to be a cheap and miniature version of a passenger car, contributing to the popularization of individual motorization in Poland. Its entire construction, ready to drive, weighed only 472 kg - the body structure was made using aviation technology. Next to it stands the prototype of the SMYK car - both cars competed for serial production. However, work on the Smyk B30 was stopped in 1959 due to numerous design flaws and high failure rates. Ultimately, it was decided to produce the Mikrus from Mielec.

In the years 1935-39, the production of the Polish Fiat 508, which was given the trade name Junak, was launched. The vehicle was a luxury good, available to a few. It was the first car produced in Poland on a large scale.

Museum of Engineering and Technology - Visiting with Children
The exhibition is huge and the number of exhibits and stations can be a bit overwhelming... When visiting with children, it is worth either choosing an interesting part or dividing the visit into several trips.
Among such attractions will be, among others, building walls, weighing on a balance scale, or trying out the mechanism of a typewriter.

Museum of Engineering and Technology - Practical Information:
- Toilets are located at the entrance and before the exit of the exhibition (so you can use them without leaving the exhibition space).
- At the entrance, there is a souvenir shop, including toys and educational models.
