The Krakow Glassworks is a living museum where you can see demonstrations of hand glass forming, learn about the history of the Krakow Glassworks, discover how and what glass is made from, and understand its wide range of applications. In the museum section, you can see old tools for glass processing and historic antique glass, including masterpieces by Krakow artists.
Visiting the Krakow Glassworks
Operating for almost a hundred years, the Krakow Glassworks is open for visitors: both in groups and individually.
During the visit, we can see demonstrations of hand glass forming, an interesting museum exhibition (history of the Krakow Glassworks, the process of glass production, antique glassworking tools), an exhibition of artistic glass and various temporary exhibitions.
Glass Museum at the Krakow Glassworks
Although small, the multimedia and interactive museum exhibition at the Krakow Glassworks tells us about the history of the glassworks and its workers. Here you can see what glass is made from, what tools are used for its processing and the interesting applications of glass in the modern world.
Krakow Glassworks - attractions
The most impressive part is always watching the glassworkers at work! We can see live how artists create wonders from red-hot glass mass: how they blow and skillfully shape it into fabulous forms!
There are also many attractions waiting for us at the museum exhibition on the first floor: multimedia stations in the museum and amazing curiosities at the artistic glass exhibition. If you bring a UV flashlight with you, you can discover real uranium glass!
Guessing what the shapes of artistic glass may remind you of is also a good fun!
Each station is thoroughly described, so we can combine fun with learning! The exhibition is available for individual and group tours of the Krakow Glassworks for only a few more weeks!
There is also a museum shop operating at the Krakow Glassworks, of course, all souvenirs are made of glass!
Before going to the show, it's worth telling your child how and from what glass is made:
Przed wypraw膮 na pokaz warto opowiedzie膰 dziecku jak i z czego powstaje szk艂o:
How is glass made?
See what quartz sand looks like under a microscope, its grains look like gemstones! ...
