The GPN Nature Museum—officially the Nature Exhibition at the Education Center of Gorce National Park (Gorczański Park Narodowy) in southern Poland—is an excellent introduction to the local nature: plants and animals.
What will you see in the Gorce National Park Nature Museum?
In several rooms, you can explore the park’s different natural habitats—from mountain peaks to stream valleys. You will get to know local plant and animal species, from the smallest to the largest.
Gorce National Park is not only forests; it also has picturesque shepherds’ meadows. That is why the museum includes a visit to a traditional shepherds’ hut (bacówka).
Each room offers not only typical displays to look at, but also interactive elements that many visitors—especially children—will enjoy.
Visiting the Gorce National Park Nature Museum
There is an admission fee. Although there are only a few rooms, visiting the exhibition and listening to all the information and fun facts on the audio guide takes about 1 hour.
Next to the museum is the large Wodzicki Park. Within it there is a trail called Wodzicki Counts Manor Park – Chabówka Hill, about 3 km long.
