The building of the University of Wrocław is located on the site of the former Piast Castle. Next to the building, you will find a gnome - the rector. We enter through heavy, historic, and richly decorated doors - perhaps the most beautiful in the whole of Wrocław!

Leopoldina Hall
This is one of the most beautiful and representative halls in the main building of the University of Wrocław. It is where the most important ceremonies take place. The name of the hall is in honor of Emperor Leopold I, who was the founder of the University of Wrocław. The Aula is a gem of Baroque architecture, with frescoes covering its ceiling.
Imperial Staircase
We are led to the halls by a richly decorated staircase - the most dignified in all of Wrocław and probably one of the most magnificent in Poland! A rarity for Baroque enthusiasts.
Mathematical Tower
It is worth climbing to the top of the Mathematical Tower - the terrace on it provides a fantastic viewpoint of the city. The tower used to house an observatory - today, it houses an exhibition of ancient astronomical instruments. An interesting feature is the meridian line on the tower - a device used to determine noon.

Fencer Fountain
In front of the university building, there is a fountain with a statue of a naked fencer - one of the main symbols of Wrocław. According to legend, it is the same sculptor who lost even his clothes in a card game while intoxicated by the students' alcohol!
