"Na Wypale" is a living museum of charcoal burning located on the border of the Bieszczady and Beskid Niski regions. Here, you can see people working on the burning of the "Bieszczady gold" and real smoking retorts.
What can we see in the Eco-Museum of Charcoal Burning "Na Wypale"?
While spending time "Na Wypale", you can not only learn about the history of charcoal burning but also observe and participate in the wood burning process. You can experience the tradition, feel it, and talk to the charcoal burner.
The museum consists of three parts:
- Exhibition area, with three working steel retorts operated by the legend of Bieszczady charcoal burning, Zbyszek Balcerzak, and his loyal dog Kropka, known from "Przystanek Bieszczady"
- a wood harvesting STAR 66 vehicle
- wood exhibition and honey extractor
- barracks with a photo gallery by Pawe艂 Malarczyk called "Ludzie dymu" (People of Smoke)
- soon, a barracks for charcoal burners will also be open for visitors
How to get to the Eco-Museum of Charcoal Burning "Na Wypale"?
The museum is located in Radoszyce in the Koma艅cza municipality, next to the main road Koma艅cza-Cisna (next to the State Forests wood depot). There is a large wooden sign directing to the Eco-Museum at the exit.
Visiting the Eco-Museum of Charcoal Burning "Na Wypale" - practical information
- We visit the museum with a guide.
- The museum is open every day, with demonstrations of burning furnaces on weekends.
- Tickets can be purchased on-site or reserved in advance online >>>. Children under 6 years old and caregivers of disabled individuals enter for free.
- Only cash payment is accepted on-site!
- There is a gastronomic area at the museum: Grill Bar "Karpackie koryto" serving Eastern cuisine to customers, including skewers, potatoes from the cauldron, sets of pickles (pickled tomatoes, garlic, carrots, cucumbers) with original Eastern sauces. Optionally, sausages and other grilled specialties are available. Hot and cold drinks, as well as draft and bottled beer, including the original beer with the image of our charcoal burner Zbyszek, are also available.
- Souvenirs and freshly burned charcoal can be purchased on-site.
- A camping site is being prepared.
