Who asks more questions about how the world works than our little ones? The Copernicus Science Centre is a great place to try and find answers to at least some of them! Remember to purchase (or reserve) tickets in advance – to avoid standing in line…

One day is not enough!

This place offers so many attractions that it's impossible to see everything in one day! Unfortunately, trying to see everything often ends with children running from station to station, touching here and there, but not remembering anything and not taking anything useful away from their visit to the Science Centre - then instead of learning, we just have a very expensive playtime…

It's also worth considering that the constant noise can be tiring for a child (and not only). The stations are located in open halls, and the centre is so popular that it's always full of people, including many children and school groups.

Tickets

In the past, a big plus was the ability to go outside, rest in the garden or on the Vistula boulevards. The ticket (wristband) was valid for the whole day - this has now changed! We have a regular entrance ticket, which becomes invalid once you leave the visiting area, beyond which is, for example, a restaurant bar.

Bzzz Room for the youngest visitors

This is exploring the world in the form of a playground. Mini workshops also take place here – included in the entrance fee. A free ticket is obtained at the cash desk when buying a ticket – there is a specified entrance time, and you can stay in the room for a maximum of 1 hour and 10 minutes. The room is intended for children up to 5 years old, but our seven-year-old, who entered as a “person accompanying younger siblings”, really liked it here and definitely didn't get bored! In the room there is a toilet with a changing table. It's worth taking a change of clothes for children - experiments with water are much more enjoyable when you don’t hear “be careful you’ll get wet” every now and then…

Laboratories and Workshop

This is the opportunity to experiment and tinker with parents - currently closed due to the epidemic. From the “menu” we choose a set, we get it from the staff and perform the selected task. The sets have different levels of difficulty, the easiest ones will interest a 3-4 year old (e.g. building a tower) – of course with the help of an adult. Entrance is included in the ticket, at any time (subject to the availability of tables). It's also an opportunity to prepare a souvenir from your visit to the Centre.

Robotic Theatre

Entry is included in the ticket, at specified times. It's worth queuing up in front of the room a few minutes earlier. The performances have no age limit, the actors are robots. The theme is more suitable for older children and adults, for younger ones (e.g. 4-6 year olds) the content may not be very understandable, but the attraction will be seeing moving and talking robots. High Voltage Theatre - only for older ones (over 6 years old), not suitable for pregnant women. Planetarium - interesting shows and films for viewers of different age groups, it's worth checking the repertoire and reserving tickets in advance. Discoverers' Park – free entry are experimental stations in the garden at the Copernicus Science Centre. …and besides, there are plenty of special events, workshops, meetings, classes… - it's worth following the news and making reservations!

Practical information:

  • the entire facility is accessible for strollers (elevators, ramps), changing tables are available in the toilets.
  • There is a self-service restaurant WIEM on the premises (dinner dishes, baby chairs),
  • on the first floor there is a mini-bar with drinks and sweets
  • The food brought with you can only be eaten in these two places. At the exit – a shop with souvenirs, toys, books, etc.
