Modyń (1029 meters above sea level) is a peak in the Beskid Wyspowy mountains near Limanowa. It attracts tourists mainly because of the viewing tower on top, and it is also called the "Mountain of Lovers." What trails lead to Modyń, and what can we see from the viewing tower?

Viewing Tower on Modyń
Thanks to the 27-meter high viewing tower built in 2021, you can rise above the treetops. If the weather is good, you can enjoy a wide view in all directions: to the north and west, you see the Beskid Wyspowy, and to the south, you can see the neighboring Gorce, Beskid Sądecki, and even the Pieniny and Tatra mountains.

Modyń - Mountain of Lovers?
Locals call Modyń the Mountain of Lovers because many people confess their love here. Near the parking area in Zalesie, there is a special decoration for this reason.

Trails to Modyń - How to Reach the Top?
The long-distance blue trail from Tarnów to Wielki Rogacz passes through the top of Modyń. There is also a black trail from the nearby Cichoń and a yellow trail from Łącko.

Most Popular Trail to Modyń
A popular route to the top of Modyń starts from the parking area in Zalesie, where the "Mountain of Lovers" is located. Walking the black trail from the parking to the top takes about 1 hour (2 km, 280 meters elevation gain).
Easiest Way to Modyń
There is a small parking area in Młyńczyska, above the Stations of the Cross and the Cisowy Dział pass. From the town center, it's 3.5 km to the top of Modyń (400 meters elevation gain, about 1.5 hours), but from this forest parking, it's only about 1.5 km (200 meters elevation gain, about 40 minutes one way). Next to the Stations of the Cross, there is also a millennium cross and a wooden shelter-chapel.

To Modyń from Kamienica and Łącko
The trails from the south, from Kamienica and Łącko, are much longer and harder. The blue trail from the center of Kamienica is about 7 km, with almost 600 meters elevation gain (about 3 hours one way), and from Łącko, it's 10 km, 700 meters elevation gain, about 3.5 hours one way.
