Witkowice is a small town located in the northern part of the Krakow agglomeration (before Zielonki).

Access: You can get here from the Dworzec Główny Wschód bus stop by bus number 115, and from the Krowdrza Górka bus loop (lines 267 and 287). Departures are approximately every half hour. You get off at the Witkowice Nowe stop and just before the stop, you can see a path leading down to the forest park.

Witkowicki Forest

The Witkowicki Forest is easily accessible, not too large, and not for mushroom pickers but it's beautiful, perfect for summer heat, interesting for kids... It's a great place for a spring or summer picnic- you can use the tables and benches set up along the educational trail (chess players who have their own pieces can also enjoy time in nature), the curious can learn from the information on the educational boards or peek through the "keyhole" to see what species of flora and fauna inhabit the Witkowicki forest and try to find them "in real life", there are insect hotels along the path. There are many paths to walk in the forest.

Playground

The biggest attraction for children is the fantastic playground located in the clearing, made of wood and rope... it is eco-friendly and stimulates imagination - monkey grove, swing, wooden ants, slide.

Witkowice Park with a stroller and bicycle

A bike trail runs through the park. You can enter the park with a stroller, but the paths there are wild and quickly become narrow, so it will be difficult for us to walk with a stroller. This place is not well known - so it is not crowded. You will mainly meet local walkers here. The Bibiczanka stream flows through the forest.

We recommend it because it's a great place for family time... and all year round: in spring we roam the forest paths looking for the first signs of spring, observing birds and their first mating rituals, looking under our feet in search of forest floor animals.... in summer the forest is a wonderful place providing relief from the hot sun, in autumn we look for all kinds of colorful and sometimes funny mushrooms (we advise mushroom pickers against it because these are completely inedible species but charming), in winter we look for tracks of hares, deer and wild boars...
